Market Days...

Living in Cusco is an adventure.  Preparing a meal requires some planning ahead...and an almost daily trip to "the market".  There you can find all kinds of fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, meats, cheeses and breads.  Sometimes, you can even find baby rabbits, chicks, turkeys and guinea pigs

Going to the market was definitely an experience to remember!

These two photos were taken at the new Mega Market...a smaller version of Kroger!  You can find a larger assortment of items but, of course, the prices are much higher.  Generally, the produce at the outdoor market is fresher.  Also, one very interesting fact - there are ONLY about 7 -8 parking spaces in front of the store for the entire building!  That's because only one out of 10 vehicles on the road are privately owned I would assume.
