Three Weeks in Peru...

Memories & Impressions

by Dianne McGregor Campbell

The trip took twenty-four hours, including long layovers in Houston and Lima.  I hadn't slept and was tired...but then I would remember.  Two little granddaughters would be waiting for me at the airport in Cusco.

Somehow, the fatigue was gone the minute I saw them - two beautiful, blonde little girls standing in line with my son Bill...starkly contrasted among all the Peruvians waiting for their families.

It had been over a year since I had seen Bill, Jeanine and the girls.  I had never met Kate, my new little granddaughter - a stunning, feisty two-year old Peruvian doll baby.  Being a missionary doctor through Mission to the World for the past four years, Bill and Jeanine and their family have faced a lot of challenges.  Not seeing family for years at a time are one of those challenges. Admittedly, not an easy one for this mother and grandmother either...

Enjoy the journey and the memories with me.  Follow the links below for the rest of the story...
